Cornflake tilapia recipe
A fish that is snow white in colour and has one of the finest textures is the talk of the town these days, the fish namely tilapia. The flavour of this fish is said to be less sole and more buttery to the tongue. When topped and crusted with cornflakes it not only helps cut the unwanted carbs and fats, but also gives a flavour that is incomparable.
In place of frying it deep generally baking it is chosen to bake them. This involves a furnishing the dish with a coating of cornflakes which come in different flavors too. One important thing that corn does is that it protects the skin of the fish and ensures that its moisture, flavor and softness is maintained. This not only adds taste to the dish but makes it low on fat content as well which of course is preferred by all of us as a part of our diet.
The cornflakes may also be substituted by wheat flakes. Using wheat flakes in the place of cornflakes would ensure the reduction of glycemic content from the dish. Also if in case one fails to find tilapia easily in the market, it may be substituted by some other white fish for that matter. The most recommended fishes for substitution are sole or cod or flounder or roughly orange.
For the preparation of the dish dried parsley, lemon that has been quartered, tilapia fillets that have rinsed and patted dry, cornflakes that are unsweetened, cocktail or tartar sauce for added flavors, beaten eggs, salt and pepper, lemon pepper, flour that is multipurpose, olive oil, cooking spray and finely chopped parsley.
For the preparation of the dish, the oven is preheated to 425F degrees, and then the baking rack is placed under it. The upper third of the oven is used for the placement purpose. The bowls that are shallow are laid and salt pepper and flour are thoroughly mixed. Other similar mixtures are also prepared using the various above mentioned ingredients and then one by one baked in the oven, finally when all the portions are baked the dish becomes ready to serve.
