Grilled tilapia recipe
This fish has a very good flavor and texture. This species of fish is versatile and adapts to almost any type of cooking. Tilapia is white in color, although the tilapia with red skin has a meat which is reddish in color. This fish can be prepared using many recipes. One of them is African grilled tilapia recipe. In this recipe the Tilapia is grilled after being basted in a marinade which is lightly flavored.
Ingredients:
• 2 pounds tilapia fillets
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1 bell pepper, chopped
• juice of 1 lemon
• 1 tablespoon vinegar
• 2 teaspoons cayenne or red pepper flakes
• 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
All the ingredients except the Tilapia are combined. They are then mixed properly till the salt dissolves. The tilapia is kept in a glass dish and the marinade is poured over it in a way that the fish is covered completely. This mixture is set on one side for twenty minutes. The grill is preheated. The marinade is poured into a saucepan and brought to a boil. This is then allowed to cool. The tilapia fillets are grilled at a medium heat for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side or till the tilapia flakes easily and becomes even in appearance all over. The tilapia can then be served by pouring a small amount of sauce over the fillets. This is a simple but delicious recipe.
